Bryan-College Station

The metropolitan area of Bryan-College Station is found in the Brazos Valley region of East Central Texas. As of 2019, just over 86,000 people resided in Bryan, while another 118,000 called College Station home. The Bryan-College Station area is conveniently located in the Texas Triangle, making it easy to get to some of the biggest cities in the state. Houston is only 83 miles southeast, while Austin is about 87 miles west-southwest.

Much of the Bryan-College Station area’s social and economic life is centered on Texas A&M University, which maintains its flagship campus in College Station, and the area is often referred to as “Aggieland” as a tribute to the school’s students and sports teams. Texas A&M brings numerous employment opportunities to the region, as the university is an appointed land-grant, sea-grant, and space-grant institution. The broad scope of research endeavors conducted here has led to long-term projects funded by agencies like the Office of Naval Research, the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and even NASA.
